Medford Police Join 'No Shave November’ Fundraiser For Home Base

Officers have individually pledged to donate and/or fundraise $100 for the cause.

MEDFORD, MA — Medford police are joining a “No Shave November” fundraiser to help raise money for Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital program dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of Veterans, active Service Members, Military Families, and Families of the Fallen.

Officers have individually pledged to donate and/or fundraise $100 for the cause to raise awareness for the invisible wounds of Veterans and their families, such as post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury.

“Please consider donating to our department’s page,” MPD said in a statement. "This is a great way for our community to make an impact, together."

In November 2021, 135 New England Police Departments, several individuals, companies and sponsors joined this effort. To date, the campaign has raised over $1.2 million.

"This year, we want to raise even more awareness about the invisible wounds and care Home Base provides, as well as raising more funds – and we need your help to do it!” MPD added. "Join us by participating, fundraising, sponsoring or donating.”
