Medford Public Library To Dedicate Room to Former City Manager

Everyone can attend a ceremony tomorrow to dedicate a reading room to former City Manager Richard Lee.

The Medford Public Library is dedicating a reading room to former City Manager and Director of Budget and Personnel Richard Lee tonight.

The longtime city employee passed away at age 58 following a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Lee began his long career in Medford as the assistant director of the Comprehensive Employment Training Act (CETA) in 1978.

From there, Lee was named assistant city manager under Plan E, serving under John Ghiloni until he retired in 1985.

Lee was voted in as city manager in 1985 and served in that position until his death.

The dedication ceremony will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Medford Public Library, 111 High Street.
