"These temporary traffic measures are necessary to allow Eversource construction crews to perform the final steps to energize the new electric line within the existing electric manholes as part of an Eversource Energy capital improvement electric utility project under a State Highway Access permit," MassDOT said in a statement.

Officials said that all construction is weather-dependent and subject to change without notice.

Appropriate signage and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area. However, drivers should reduce speed and use caution while traveling through the area, officials said.
