New Year, New Homes for Pets in Need

Oden and Whiskers need forever homes

Did your New Year’s resolutions have anything to do with making the world a better place? Opening your home and heart to a homeless pet is a wonderful way to start. Kitty Connection, an all-volunteer rescue organization that facilitates pet adoptions throughout Greater Boston and the North and South Shores, has many abandoned, orphaned and surrendered cats and dogs seeking forever homes - including these two with particularly unique backgrounds and needs.

Whiskers

Eight-year-old Whiskers lost both her home and her “job” when the automotive repair shop where she lived for the past five years closed. A “shop cat” for most of her life, Whiskers has been acclimating well to life in a foster home – playing with toys and purring for attention and her beloved wet food. A somewhat shy and quiet cat, Whiskers needs a home without small children or dogs, so she can have “me time” when she needs it. She might be OK with other cats, although she hasn’t lived with them before. She can’t wait to meet her new family!

Oden

Just as starting a family is much more than “having a baby”, becoming a pet owner is much more than adopting a puppy. Oden’s former owners learned that the hard way – unfortunately for him. This one-year-old Siberian husky needs abundant exercise and appropriate dog training to live his best life. He got neither and his owners found they couldn’t keep up with him and surrendered this friendly, lovable – but very energetic – guy. Kitty Connection has set Oden up with dog training, which his new family will need to continue. He also needs people who will take him out for regular exercise and runs. Oden gets along with other dogs and would do well with owners who have large breed or husky experience. He’s a fun-loving pup looking for a second chance.

Whiskers and Oden are spayed and neutered, respectively, have tested negative for common diseases and are current with rabies vaccines and other shots. If you’re interested in adopting them or any other available cat or dog, please visit our website (www.kittyconnection.net) and send a pre-adoption application to kc@kittyconnection.net.
