Steven A. “Brownie” Brown, 48, of Medford, died suddenly on Tuesday, Jan. 27, in Medford.
Born and raised in Medford, Steven was a 1984 graduate of Medford High School. He served the Commonwealth for 24 years with the Department of Revenue and most recently pursued a career in the private sector. Steven was a 32nd degree Mason, a former scoutmaster and baseball coach. He loved animals and enjoyed the outdoors such as fishing, hiking, boating and gardening.

Beloved husband of 22 years to Sharen (Jackson). Devoted father of U.S. Navy Corpsman Samuel Brown, Sawyer Brown and Sarah Brown, all of whom he deeply cherished. Loving son of Frank and Roberta Brown of Medford. Brother of Karen Brown Cain of Concord and Frank Brown and his wife Rhonda (Avola) of Stoneham. He’s also survived by many loved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Grace Episcopal Church, 160 High St., Medford, Monday Feb. 2, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours have respectfully been omitted. Interment will be private. A collation will be held immediately following the service at the church.
