Free Tuition: Some Tufts Students Will Be Eligible For Financial Aid Attendance In 2026
Tufts University enrolls nearly 7,000 undergraduate students.
MEDFORD, MA — Tufts University announced that it will be providing free tuition for students whose families make less than $150,000 per year collectively, according to a report from The Tufts Daily.
The new program is called the Tufts Tuition Pact and will take effect at the beginning of the 2026 school year. For students whose families make less than $60,000 annually, additional financial aid will be provided for students to cover expenses such as on-campus housing, meals, books and other supplies.
Despite the tuition consistently increasing at Tufts, the actual average cost for students has reportedly declined in recent years due to the increasing financial aid provided by the university.
