MELROSE, MA — The city is asking for residents to give their input on the future of one of Melrose’s most significant locations.

Memorial Hall at 590 Main St. hosts approximately 800 people for various forms of entertainment, such as the oldest volunteer performing orchestra in the country: The Melrose Symphony Orchestra. Last year, the city was given a grant from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council to develop a strategic plan for the building’s future. The survey is available online and responses are being accepted through Tuesday, Dec. 23.

The hall was first built in 1912. It was constructed as a permanent memorial to the Melrose residents who served during the Civil War.
