Melrose Has An Eventful Veterans' Day Weekend Planned
The city has three main events going on related to the holiday.
MELROSE, MA — The city has a diverse group of events planned leading up to and on this Veterans Day. The Melrose Veterans Services Department and Veterans Advisory Board has spearheaded the organization of the three happenings that all the goal of honoring and supporting local veterans.
The weekend of festivities begins with a Community Food Drive on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Shaw’s supermarket on 34 Essex St. Donations will be collected between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. with all proceeds going to nearby food pantries.
The annual Veterans Breakfast is scheduled for the morning of Monday, Nov. 10 at Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School. Directly following the 8:30 a.m. meal will be the Veterans Day student assembly.

On the next day, Veterans’ Day, the city is asking community members to gather at the Knoll Vietnam Reflection Area across from the middle school on 360 Lynn Fells Parkway for the annual ceremony that honors all who have served.
The Veterans Services Department hosts a food pantry for veterans on the third Wednesday of each month at Memorial Hall on 590 Main Street.
