Melrose High Graduate Earns Prestigious State Award

Katherine Ilia was selected by the College Board as the 2015 recipient of the State AP Scholar Award.

Melrose, MA - Superintendent of Schools Cyndy Taymore announced many updates at Tuesday’s School Committee meeting, including information on a Melrose graduate who received an Advanced Placement Scholar Award from the state.

Class of 2015 MHS graduate Ms. Katherine Ilia was selected by the College Board as the 2015 recipient of the State AP Scholar Award.

Each year College Board selects only one female and one male from each state for this honor. The award is given to the students that have earned the most AP scores of 3 or higher statewide with an average of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken.
