Melrose Holding Special Dedication For Fallen City Employee

Eric Devlin was a Melrose Conservation Agent.

MELROSE, MA — City leaders are planning to honor a former conservation agent with a special dedication this weekend.

The Melrose Conservation Commission and Mayor Jen Grigoraitis are inviting community members to Ell Pond Park at 700 Main St. on Friday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. where a bench will be dedicated to Eric Devlin.

Devlin died in December 2023 at the age of 37. During his time as a Conservation Commission manager, he made several improvements to Ell Pond including acquiring the property that became the completed Rocky View Trail and managing invasive plant species. The Saugus resident was also dedicated to the environment in his town as a member of Saugus Action Volunteers for the Environment.
