Melrose Inviting District Parents To Educational Workshop

MELROSE, MA — The Education Foundation has opened registration for “Parent University,” which is slated for Saturday, Nov. 22.

Parent University is a complementary day of workshops catered toward parents who have students in the district.

“Melrose Parent University is designed to increase caregivers’ ability to support students, and help both caregivers and community members understand current trends in education,” The MEF said in a statement.

The festivities at Melrose High School will begin at 8 a.m. with registration and community tables. At 8:30 a.m., Superintendent of Schools Cari Berman will address attendees to officially commence the event. Two hour-long workshop sessions with a variety of topics will follow.

Parents will have more than 17 workshop options to choose from, with focuses of college admission, socia media intake, LGBTQ+ youth, anxiety, individual education programs, and more. Certain workshops are targeted for different ages of students.

MEF has organized the event with the assistance of Melrose Public Schools and the Melrose Cooperative Bank Foundation. Registration can be completed here.
