9-30-2025 THE OTHER SIDE OF LAKE QUANNAPOWITT There is an orange buoy in the middle of the lake, and one Canada goose is floating close by; but in a moment as I looked up, it flapped its wings and raced across the water….and all was still. Overhead the goose circled the lake then joining about 30 other geese stretching their wings heading to settle on the far side of the lake. It is a pretty day. These trees have not changed color or have lost their leave yet. The music of the wind between the branches is soothing. The low bushes by the water's edge seem to shift about slowly from left to right to accompany the song of the trees. The sky is pale blue with barely visible white clouds. A small plane flies overhead; American flags fly along the fence of a neighborhood house; the birds are gone; and a feeling of peace surrounds me.
