58-Year-Old Man Struck And Killed By Car In Quincy

Donald Bowes was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he did not survive his injuries, authorities say.

QUINCY, MA — A 58-year-old man died after he was struck by an SUV in Quincy early Friday morning, police say.

Quincy police responded to Newport Ave. around 4 a.m., to find Donald Bowes, 58, had been struck by a car. Bowes was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, police said.

The driver of the car remained on the scene to help cooperate, officers said.

Newport Ave. was closed from Holbrook Road to the W. Squantum Street overpass during the morning commute.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
