1. Dorothy E. Caruso, 88 (thequincysun.com) — Longtime Braintree resident Dorothy E. Caruso, who was born, raised, and educated in Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School in 1956, has passed away at 88. She spent her final years living in Quincy and was devoted to her close-knit family. Services were private, with a memorial Mass planned for a later date under the direction of Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals on Independence Avenue.

A Mass. billionaire couple donated $100M for mental health care at Boston Children's Hospital (masslive.com) — A billionaire Quincy couple, Rob and Karen Hale, has donated $100 million to expand pediatric mental health care at Boston Children’s Hospital, funding a major new facility in Brighton. Their gift will nearly double the hospital’s mental health bed capacity and add extensive outpatient and specialty services, aiming to ease the statewide crisis in children’s behavioral health care.

3. Barrett L. Gilchrist (boothbayregister.com) — Quincy readers may remember Barrett “Barry” Gilchrist, who grew up in Quincy before a long life that took him across New England and ultimately to Concord, New Hampshire, where he has died at 90. A Bowdoin graduate, Navy veteran, and devoted family man, he was also a longtime Brae Burn Country Club member and active in his Maine summer community. A celebration of life is planned for 2026.
