I-93 Overnight Lane Closures Coming To Somerville This Weekend

SOMERVILLE, MA – Overnight construction is set to occur on I-93 southbound from Exit 23 to the Lombardi Street underpass in Somerville this weekend.

Two lanes will be closed nightly from Sunday, April 23 through Thursday, April 27 between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. The lane closures are required to perform bridge joint repairs, Massachusetts Department of Transportation officials said in a news release.

MassDOT encourages drivers to make informed decisions before heading out onto the roadways. Signs and traffic control devices will be used to guide drivers through the work zone.

Drivers traveling through the area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution, MassDOT officials said.
