Green Line Crash Remains Under National Investigation: Report

Federal investigators are still evaluating the incident.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Federal investigators remain on the scene of an MBTA Green Line collision that took place at East Somerville Station this past weekend, according to a report from NBC 10 Boston.

One passenger and four operators were transported to the hospital after the train carrying passengers crashed into an out-of-service train. The incident left the train cars visibly damaged.
The National Transportation Safety Board is still gathering data on the maintenance and inspection records for the tracks and train cars leading up to the incident, along with the crew.

The NTSB said it will release a preliminary report within 30 days from when the incident occurred.
