SOMERVILLE, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced an overnight closure on Interstate Route 93 northbound for Tuesday, Jan. 28.
The first closure will take effect from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday, and involves the closure of the ramp that connects the northbound routes of I-93 and Mystic Avenue. MassDOT suggests continuing on Mystic Avenue and using the ramp on Moreland Street.
From 10 p.m. to 12 a.m., the two farthest right lanes will be closed on 93 northbound between exit 20 and the Temple Street underpass. An additional third lane will be closed from midnight until 5 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The closures are being enacted to allow for concrete repairs, structural steel cleaning/painting, structural steel repairs, and bridge deck and joint repairs on Route 93 as part of a $39 million project.
“Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution,” MassDOT said in a statement.
