SOMERVILLE, MA — The city’s Engineering Department announced that a portion of the Community Path will be closed for approximately one week.

The closure was slated to begin on Monday, July 28. However, the city said it may be slightly delayed from its original date. The path will be detoured between Lowell Street and Central Street 24 hours per day once it begins. The closure is taking place in order to repair damaged concrete between Lowell Street and Junction Park.

The Community Path runs 3.2 miles from Alewife Linear Park to the Lechmere MBTA Green Line station. It can be traversed with walking and cycling.
