Red Line Train Malfunctions In Somerville: Report

The disabled train caused a shutdown of the MBTA line for more than four hours.

SOMERVILLE, MA — An MBTA Red Line malfunction near Davis Square caused the evacuation of approximately 60 people on Monday morning, according to a report from WCVB Newscenter 5.

Shuttle buses replaced the train service for more than four hours after the train became disabled in a tunnel at approximately 11 a.m. One person was transported to the hospital for undisclosed reasons.
