Route 28 In Somerville To Temporarily Close Lanes Overnight For Repairs
The closures will be in place weekly, Sunday through Thursday nights, from Sunday, June 25, through Thursday, July 6.
SOMERVILLE, MA – Temporary overnight lane closures are coming to route 28 in Somerville as part of the Eversource Energy state highway access permit project.
The temporary traffic measures will allow Eversource construction crews to install hot mix asphalt, raise utility castings and install pavement markings along Mystic Avenue.
The closures will occur along Route 38 northbound between Middlesex Avenue in Somerville and on the I-93 exit 21 on-ramp and off-ramps in Medford and Somerville.

They will be in place weekly, Sunday through Thursday nights, from Sunday, June 25, through Thursday, July 6, during overnight hours from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. The closures are expected to conclude by 5:00 a.m. on Friday, July 7.
Signs, traffic control devices, detours and law enforcement details will be used to guide drivers through or around the work zones.
MassDOT encourages drivers to reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through or around the work zones and to allow for extra time through this area.
