Somerville Gets Three New Firefighters

Three new Somerville Firefighters graduated from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy in Stow on June 2.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Somerville got three new firefighters this month. Brian Langton, Christopher Tirrell, and Alex Artinian just graduated from the state academy.

The three new firefighters were members of the Career Recruit Firefighter Class # 311 and graduated on Friday, June 2, in a ceremony at the Department of Fire Services, One State Road, Stow.

They were given their new assignments and will report to Union Square, Highland Avenue and Somerville Avenue fire stations on June 8, Somerville Fire Chief Charles Breen wrote in an email.

“Don’t just be on the job, be into the job!” Chuck Bazylinski, a firefighter with the Somerville Fire Department from 1974 - 2008, wrote on Facebook.
