Somerville Issues Road Closures For Lighting Installation
Two roads will be closed for one day each.

SOMERVILLE, MA — The city announced two separate road closures on Monday, June 16 and Tuesday, June 17 respectively.
Walnut Street to Cross Street will be closed on Monday and the East Somerville MBTA Green Line station to Poplar Street will be shut down for the duration of Tuesday. Both closures are expected to be in effect from approximately 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on their respective days.
The roads will be closed to allow for lighting installations on the community path extension. The two-mile path is one part of the Green Line Extension Project, as it provides a route for walkers and cyclists to easily access all four of the new Green Line stops.
