This Somerville Pub Will Transform Into Hogwarts For Halloween
The Harry Potter-themed weekend will feature live music, costume contests, and more.
SOMERVILLE, MA — Thirsty Scholar Pub in Somerville will be channeling Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this weekend for some early Halloween celebrations.
On the evenings of Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29, the pub will be decked in Harry Potter-themed decor complete with “floating” candles.
Guests are encouraged to dress in costumes of any kind on both nights, because at 9 p.m. each night, the person rocking the best look will be awarded a $100 cash prize. Boston-based singer and guitarist Jamie Cain will also perform a set on Saturday night from 8-11 p.m.

On Tuesday, Nov. 1, the party will continue with a Harry Potter Trivia Night at 7 p.m. Hosted by Sporacle, Thirsty Scholar has one of the largest-attended trivia nights in the state. Those with the most Harry Potter knowledge will take home a $50 gift card, while the second-place finishers will get a $25 gift card.
