Somerville Salon Raises Money For Community Action Agency

The Hair Cuttery Salon has donated a portion of the proceeds to charity.

The Hair Cuttery salon in Somerville decided to lend a helping hand to celebrate its one-year anniversary.

It raised money and awareness for the Community Action Agency in Somerville.

The salon donated five percent of all proceeds to the charity. Community Action Agency of Somerville runs the Head Start program in Somerville and Cambridge. In addition, it assists families and individuals to keep their homes and prevent homelessness and works with Somerville residents to help those in need to escape poverty and become economically self-sufficient.

Through partnerships with local social service agencies, the Hair Cuttery has donated more than 125,000 haircuts in the last year and more than 950,000 haircuts since the program’s inception in 1999.
