Somerville State Park Parking Lot Closes Down For Renovation Project

Draw Seven State Park's parking lot will be unavailable for use for an extended period of time.

SOMERVILLE, MA — The Department of Recreation and Conservation announced Friday that the parking lot at Draw Seven State Park will be closed effective immediately through spring of next year as part of the park’s reconstruction project.

The DCR first announced the renovations in 2023, which include implementation of a brand new parking lot, river path, fishing pier, benches, and direct access to the Amelia Earhart Dam.

According to the state, the five goals of the project are connectivity, recreation, ecological habitat restoration, climate resilience and flood protection, and upgraded utilities for the dam.
