Somerville Winter Hill School To Remain Closed Through 2024: Report

The building will remain closed after a section of concrete fell into a stairwell in the building last month, Boston 25 News reports.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Somerville’s Winter Hill Community Innovation School will remain closed for the entirety of the upcoming school year, Boston 25 News reports.

The school district told Boston 25 News that the extended closure is due to the lengthy planning process between structural engineers’ assessments and final reports to repair the issues.

The closure was prompted after a piece of concrete fell into a stairwell at the school last month. Luckily, the school was closed during the incident.

Classes are set to take place in the Edgerly Building at 8 Bonair St, Boston 25 reports. Grades 1-8 and the AIM Program will be at Edgerly Center, while PK and K (3 classrooms total) will be at the Capuano Center.
