Annual 'Green Up' Town Cleaning Planned For Sudbury
Join your Sudbury friends and neighbors for this annual roadside cleanup and adopt a street.

SUDBURY, MA—It's that time of year where the trash that built up and got smothered by the snow emerges, and our streets, roads and yards can look a little ... well, trashy.
Sudbury friends and neighbors get together in full force at the Annual Roadside Cleanup to beautify and clean Sudbury's roads, public areas and parks on Saturday, May 19. Officials urge everyone to take part in this important effort. Each year, Sudbury civic groups, businesses and residents volunteer their time and energy to pick up litter all over town.
Participants can sign up to adopt a street for cleanup. Then, on May 19, everyone who volunteered picks up litter discarded in the area(s) they selected to beautify. The DPW then picks up securely fastened litter bags along the roadside during the week following. Separated recyclables (glass, cans, # 1-7 plastic) and returnables may be dropped off at the rear of Town Hall.

Volunteers are encouraged to use their own trash bags, but those who do not wish to use their own may pick up bags beforehand at the Board of Selectmen’s Office in the Flynn Building.
Organizers suggest using your car's hazard lights when parking near busy streets during the cleanup. For high school students, volunteer hours on Cleanup Day are eligible for Community Service credit. Stop by the Selectmen’s Office during regular office hours to have this form signed.
