GoFundMe Campaign: The Brett Kachura Memorial Fund

The first sponsorship was handed out in memory of Kachura this year. The campaign continues to collect funds for this memorial.

SUDBURY, MA—Brett Michael Donald “Tex” Kachura, a fun, gentle, sweet 17-year-old junior at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, passed away at home unexpectedly March 31, 2017. Born on September 29, 1999, in Temple, TX Brett had plans to study business and finance at his dream-college: University of Texas.

Shortly after his death, a GoFundMe campaign was set up to help with the cost of the family's expenses. Now, approximately a year later, the campaign is just shy of the $15,000 goal, which also is to establish a sponsorship in his name.

The first $1,000 sponsorship was given out in Kachura's name this year.

"Our plan is to try to get the fund to a $25,000 dollar endowment fund so it will run itself and we no longer have to worry about it. We are thinking maybe a fundraiser a year to help get it there."
