Goodnow Library Trustees Fill Vacant Seat
Resident Nancy Vetstein Hershfield was voted in during the Sept. 3 Board of Selectmen meeting.

Nancy Vetstein Hershfield said Goodnow Library was the place to go when she first move to Sudbury 14 years ago.
That was where she was able to meet fellow residents for the first time and where she began to volunteer.
Now, after a majority vote during the Sept. 3 Board of Selectmen meeting, Hershfield is the newest member of the Goodnow Library Trustees.

Most recently, Hershfield has been active in helping the library plan for its 150th anniversary and open house.

"I've worked with (Director Esme Green) and her staff to develop the plan for 150th and open house, and I thought I knew what the library offered but not until I realized the all the resources it has," she said. "I want to continue to help support the relevance of the library. I want it to be good in the future, too."
The other candidates who were eying the vacant seat were Greg Hamill and Ed Feldman.
"It's great to see three people vying for this one position," Selectman Bob Haarde said.
"The Trustees are lucky to have three eligible candidates," Selectman Chair John Drobinski said.
Selectman Larry O'Brien said he hoped the other candidates would find other ways to help the library.
"Don’t drop off scene," he said. "We're always looking for people."
Trustee member Barbara Pryor said she was thankful for all three candidates.
"I feel grateful for people who came forward, it’s a tribute to them but frankly to the library itself," said Trustee Chair Barbara Pryor. "Thank you, again."
Hershfield's term will end April 30, 2015.
