More Issues Found During Landham Road Bridge Work

Completion of roadwork expected some time next week.

The Sudbury Police Department is asking motorists, both from Sudbury and out of town, to continue to seek alternate routes while construction on the Landham Road bridge continues, especially now that school is back in session.

Landham Road is still closed to through traffic starting at Boston Post Road to Woodside Road due to more extensive work than was previously expected, the Town of Sudbury said in a statement.

"Excavation must be performed from the middle of the road so traffic must seek an alternate route," the statement read.

Detours have been set up to help the flow of traffic, taking traffic through thickly settled neighborhoods.

"We're asking residents to seek alternate routes at this time," Chief Scott Nix said. "We try to monitor the detour routes and make sure cars are driving appropriately given the residential neighborhoods."

The overall cost of the project was projected to be roughly $200,000.

Completion date is expected sometime during the week of Sept. 9.

"This schedule is subject to change due to matters beyond our control," the statement read.

A message left for DPW Director Bill Place was not immediately returned.
