Sudbury Alum Wins Edward Spugnardi Memorial Award at Amherst College

AMHERST, Mass. – Annika Nygren, a Sudbury resident and 2012 graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury RHS, has won the Edward Spugnardi Memorial Award for the second time in her career at Amherst College. The award is presented annually to a student who, through the qualities of sportsmanship and dedication, has made Amherst College a more enjoyable place to be a student and an athlete. The 2016 recipient was presented to sernior field hockey Captain Annika Nygren who was introduced by head coach Carol Knerr. Nygren was selected as a member of the NFHCA All-Region second team while also being a member of the ZAG/NFHCA National Academic Squad.
