Sudbury Youth Issued Citation for Pot Violation

An investigation into suspicious car by a Sudbury Police officer on patrol the afternoon of June 8 resulted in a Sudbury youth receiving a $100 fine.
According to acting Police Chief Scott Nix, the officer saw a car parked in the lot of a closed business on Union Avenue.
The officer reported the car was parked in a suspicious manner and investigated the scene.

During the investigation the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.
The person in the car, reported only as a Sudbury youth, was issued a $100 fine for being in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

In other police news from June 8:
- A Concord Road resident requested police assistance regarding her son. Responding officers took appropriate measure to ensure the mother's safety. No arrests were made.
- A Pratts Mill road resident reported people shooting a potato gun in the area. Responding officers were unable to locate the individuals, nor were they able to find the location of the caller.
- A Scotts Wood Drive resident reported someone firing bottle rockets in the neighborhood. Responding officers found the area quiet when they arrived.
