Sudbury's 375th Anniversary is Ongoing With Dance and Other Family Fun
The official town anniversary is in September, but festivities are going on throughout the year.
Most birthday's are celebrated over one day. But when you make it to 375 years old, you deserve the festivities to last a bit longer.
Sudbury will turn 375 officially on September 4, but throughout recent months the Sudbury Celebrates 375 Committee has been planning a variety of events, as well as designing merchandise to commemorate the event.
Among the upcoming events is a Starlight Dance that will take place on May 16 at the Wayside Inn.
Friends and family will be able to dance under the stars while enjoying music from the White Heat Swing Sextet. In addition, there will be dinner served inside the inn at 5 p.m. before the dance runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Tickets will cost $40 for dinner and dancing, or $20 for the dance only. For dinner reservations, call (978) 443-1776, and for tickets to the dance visit Graphic Connections, Bartlett's Family Garden, or contact Joe Bausk at (978) 443-8963.
Among the other community events coming up for the 375th anniversary are the Olde Time Family Community Fair Day in Town Center on August 23 and the Field Day and Fireworks Finale on September 6 at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.
Sudbury resident David Alderman designed the logo for Sudbury Celebrates 375. It is available on items like t-shirts, water bottles and mugs that can be purchased by visiting the same locations that will be offering tickets to the dance.
