Fatal Crash Claims Life of Watertown Woman

A 20-year-old Watertown woman was killed in an accident on 495 North in Marlborough Thursday evening.

The Massachusetts State Police and local officials, including the responded to a fatal single-car crash on 495 northbound, north of Exit 25A, in Marlborough late last evening, an accident that claimed the life of a young Watertown woman.

"Preliminary investigation by Trooper Matthew Conway indicates that Mary Kostikian, 20, of Watertown, who was operating a 2010 Honda Civic, was ejected from her vehicle when it rolled over into the right travel lane just after Exit 25A. The victim was not wearing a seat-belt and speed is being investigated as a contributing factor in this crash," said a release from the MSP. 

The crash occurred at approximately 10:25 p.m. Thursday, said a release from police. The two right travel lanes were closed for several hours to accommodate the ongoing investigation by Troop C of the Massachusetts State Police, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.

Roadways are once again open, and police say that the victim rolled over the 2010 Honda Civic she was driving and was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to , where she was pronounced deceased.
