Goodbye Watertown, and See You Around Town!

Watertown Patch editor Charlie Breitrose will change positions, but still be in town.

It's a strange feeling leaving a news website that I helped start from the ground up.

More than 2 1/2 years ago I launched Watertown Patch as the site's editor, with the help of many of my colleagues. Since then, I have have had the chance to meet many people in the town I call home.

Most welcomed me, even when they did not know what Patch is all about, and now many say they read it every day. That's music to my ears!

It seems that so many things have happened during my time at Watertown Patch - elections, state championships, new businesses, and many more. And THEN the Boston Marathon Bombers came to town, bringing chaos, and later the world's media to our small community. I will never forget the celebration on Mt. Auburn Street after the capture of the second bombing suspect.

Leaving so soon after the events of Apil 19 seems strange, but I will not be totally gone. As part of my new position as Field Editor I will be writing about Watertown.

I am turning over the reins to Franklin Tucker, who has been - and will continue to be - editor of Belmont Patch. Feel free to reach out to him at franklin@patch.com.

So, goodbye, but I also hope to see you around Watertown.
