A woman shopping with her three children at the Arsenal Mall discovered her wallet was taken out of her purse and a credit card was used to charge hundreds of dollars.
The woman told police she was in Stride Rite when she became distracted and that is when her wallet went missing, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. The wallet contained IDs, credit cards and $60 in cash.
"Later she learned her card was used at Wet Seal for over $400, and other attempts to use it were made," Lawn said.
Store security at Wet Seal said the suspect is a Hispanic woman, age 22 to 26, 5-foot-5 and 150 pounds. Lawn said. She also has a tattoo of the Air Jordan logo on her wrist, Lawn said.
Police are investigating.
