Thunderstorms and Flash Flood Watch for Watertown on Thursday, Friday

Watch for street flooding and streams and rivers flowing high.

A large storm is headed toward Watertown and the National Weather Service warns of strong thunder storms and possible flash flooding.

A Flash Flood Watch began at noon Thursday and runs through Friday afternoon, according to the NWS warning.

Thunderstorms are expected across Southern New England Thursday night and Friday, and some places may get up to 2 inches of rain, according to the NWS.

The heavy rain could cause street flooding and some stream and rivers could run over their banks, the NWS said.
