Woman Arrested for Shoplifting, Gets in More Trouble Back at Watertown Police Station

Woman was arrested at Best Buy for taking a computer.

Watertown Police arrested two women for shoplifting at Best Buy, but the trouble was just starting for one of the suspects.

Store security reported a shoplifting in progress at 3:20 p.m. on May 29 and while police were on their way, two women tried to leave the store with a computer for which they had not paid, said Watertown Police Sgt. Thomas Grady.

"When they were asked a receipt, they dropped the computer and fled into the parking lot," Grady said.

The then got into a white Chevy SUV driven by a man, and the SUV took off down Arsenal Street toward Brighton, Grady said. Police searched the area and located them on Arsenal Street near Greenough Boulevard. 

Two women, Catrina A. Miller of Lynn and Sara N. Haapanen of Agawam, were placed under arrest for taking the computer, Grady said.

"At the Police Station when Miller was in custody they found she was in possession of Class B, C and E drugs - all prescription medication - for which she was charged," Grady said.

Catrina A. Miller, 28, of 435 Washington St. in Lynn, was arrested on charges of larceny over $250, possession of a Class B drug, possession of a Class E drug and two counts of possession of a Class C drug.

Sara N. Haapanen, 23, of 134 Channel Drive in Agawam, was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250, and she had an outstanding warrant from Charlestown District Court.
