DEARBORN, MI — President Donald Trump will visit a Ford factory in metro Detroit before speaking at the Detroit Economic Club on Tuesday, according to White House officials.

Trump will first tour the Ford Rouge plant in Dearborn, where the automaker's F-150 is made. The popular pickup truck is the bestselling domestic vehicle in the U.S.

Trump's visit to the plant comes as the automaker is planning to boost production of the F-150, adding hundreds of new jobs.

It also comes at a time when Ford is shifting production away from the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, where the F-150 Lightning was being made.

Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill" eliminated $7,500 in tax credits for new electric vehicle purchases on Sept. 30, along with $4,000 for used models. The federal support was ended seven years earlier than planned by the Biden administration.

After the factory tour, Trump will speak at 2 p.m. at the Detroit Economic Club, at the MotorCity Casino Sound Board theater.

The trip, which also coincides with the opening week of the Detroit Auto Show at the Huntington Place convention center, will be his first trip to Michigan since April 2025.
