The first week of August brought about several incidents in Trenton, including residents who reported their property stolen and/or damaged.

  • A 79-year-old Trenton man reported several items—including a credit card—were stolen when he moved out of Trenton Towers at about 2:20 p.m. Aug. 3. The balance on the stolen credit card increased from $700 to $4,800 in one day, according to a report. The man said he noticed the credit card, his wallet, watch, coin collection and jewelry were missing after he and his grandson moved out of the co-op apartment building.
  • A 56-year-old woman told Trenton police someone stole her personalized license plate within a few days leading up to 9:30 a.m. Aug 3 in the 1800 block of Woodside Street. The license plate was taken off her 2002 Chevrolet Venture.
  • A 50-year-old woman reported someone broke into her 2004 Cadillac CTS and stole the car stereo amplifier between 10 p.m. Aug. 1 and 11 a.m. Aug 2 in the 3700 block of Fairlane Street. The woman told police her car was unlocked and parked in the driveway at the time of the theft. She added someone also damaged the center console of the car.
