Girl Runs Screaming Out of House During Attempted Break-In in Trenton

A 14-year-old girl ran screaming out of her house after someone attempted to break in at about 3:10 p.m. March 14 in the 1700 block of Westfield.

The girl told police she was home alone when she saw and heard a white man wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans knocking at the door.

The girl said she hid inside the house and did not answer the door.

About a minute later the girl heard someone kicking at an entry door to the residence from inside the attached garage, according to a Trenton police report.

The girl ran screaming out of the house and over to a nearby neighbor's house, where the neighbor called police, according to the same report.

The girl told police the man was about 5 feet 8 inches tall with short, blonde hair, and a blue pickup truck was parked in front of the residence at the time of the attempted break-in.

Police said the entry door of the residence from the attached garage was damaged and a wood panel was kicked in near the bottom of the door.
