Inspirational Speaker Uses Devastating Accident to Reach Trenton Football Team

Brad Hurtig was featured on ESPN, The New York Times and "Montell Williams" after he suffered a devestating accident that took his hands.

High School football players from around Downriver filed into Sunday evening to learn a lesson in overcoming adversity.

Players from Trenton, Wyandotte and Riverview listened to Brad Hurtig, 25, as he shared his story about a devastating stamping factory accident in 2002 that led to the amputation of his left hand and half of his right arm.

Before the accident Hurtig, a sophomore, was a three-sport athlete, and instead of giving up he figured out a way to, not only play sports without his hands, but also excel at them.

By the time Hurtig was a senior he was back playing football and baseball. During his senior year Hurtig led his northwestern Ohio high school football team with 111 tackles.

The Fairview, OH native with people young and old to inspire them to overcome adversity and teach them that nothing is impossible.

said the boys learned lessons on adversity, leadership, attitude and setting goals.
