• Crowdfunding starts to clear student school lunch debt (fox4kc.com) — A Kansas City family is using GoFundMe to chip away at more than $14,000 in school lunch debt at Center Middle School, hoping students can focus on learning instead of unpaid meals. After discovering the size of the debt, they’re inviting neighbors to help ease the burden on families and the Center School District during the holiday season. 
• Lenexa police ask for help in locating missing woman, 45 (kshb.com) — Kansas City–area readers are being asked to help find 45-year-old Amber Foster, last seen early Sunday near W. 87th Street Parkway and Winchester in Lenexa, with her car later found in a nearby garage. Anyone who spots her should call 911, and those wanting to stay anonymous can share tips through the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers hotline or app, which may offer cash rewards.
