Apparent E-Bike Fire Causes Evacuation Of 6-Story Nashua Building
A fire set off alarms and sprinklers in a fourth-floor apartment. Firefighters arrived to smoke-filled hallways at the High Street building.
NASHUA, NH — Nashua Fire Rescue responded to 44 High St. on Wednesday due to fire alarms sounding.
Upon arrival at the Flats on High Street at approximately 5:15 p.m., they were notified of a fire in a fourth-floor apartment of a six-story building, and the sprinklers were activated. Firefighters made entry into the apartment and quickly located an e-bike that had been on fire. They removed it after fully extinguishing the fire..
Firefighters worked to evacuate the building and clear the smoke from the hallways. Crews used squeegees to try to help clean up water that had flowed to multiple floors. The fire was brought under control quickly. However, crews remained at the scene working on salvage operations for more than an hour.

It is unknown how many people may be displaced due to the damage caused by the fire, smoke, and water.
Nashua Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the incident. However, it appears to have started with the e-bike.
