A Massachusetts man accused of battering his girlfriend's 10-week-old baby, while in his care was ordered held on $1 million bail Jan. 2.

According to WMUR, Enrique Santiago, 20, of Lawrence, Mass., was watching the baby Dec. 26 in an Arlington Street Apartment in Nashua when, according to police, he struck the baby with a pillow that had a tablet computer inside it.

Santiago admitted that he intentionally struck the crying child out of frustration, and asked the court for leniency. Police said in an earlier report that there was evidence the child had suffered multiple injuries over the past two months, including bleeding on the brain, brain swelling, retinal bleeding, fractured ribs, as well as leg and arm fractures.
