Keith Michael Lisa, a Barnegat resident, brought an aluminum baseball bat wanting to go to Alina Habba's office, officials said.

BARNEGAT, NJ — A Barnegat man was charged with possessing a dangerous weapon and depredation of federal property after trying to bring an aluminum baseball bat into a federal building in Newark and damaging federal property, Acting United States Attorney and Special Attorney Alina Habba announced.

Keith Michael Lisa, 51, entered the Peter W. Rodino Federal Building in Newark on Nov. 12 shortly before 5 p.m. with a baseball bat, according to authorities.

Lisa told security he needed to see the Attorney General's Office; security told him that the bat was not allowed, authorities said.

He left and returned without the bat, "visibly irate" and mumbling as he went through security screening, authorities said.

After the screening, Lisa went to the reception area of the U.S. Attorney's Office, where witnesses say he was angry and talking about tearing the place up, officials said.
