BRIDGEWATER, NJ — New contracts for supervisors, principals, and teachers at Bridgewater-Raritan were recently finalized.

The Bridgewater-Raritan Principals Association, the Bridgewater-Raritan Supervisors Association, and the Board of Education(BOE) settled on a three-year contract that retroactively begins on July 1.

According to the district, both new agreements, active through June 30, 2028, include an annual 3.45 percent salary increase over the prior year's base salary for each year of the agreements for principals and supervisors.

"I really think that's great work by the committee, by the Board of Ed as a whole, and the supervisors association, the principals association, and the teachers association, " said Superintendent Robert Beers at the Sept. 30 BOE meeting. "Here it is before Oct. 1, and we are ready to approve contracts for all of our bargaining units. It's quite an accomplishment."

A new five-year agreement with teachers was also reached at the Sept. 9 meeting.

According to the district, the new teacher agreement, active through June 30, 2030, include an initial 3.6 percent salary increase over the prior year's base salary for 2025-26. Then the agreement calls for an increase of 3.7 percent annually for the remaing four years of the contract through 2030.

"At least people have the ability to know what the paychecks are and have some stability in our hiring," said Beers. "It certainly helps us down the road when we look to recruit people and retain people within our organization."
