Even More Epic Ice Cream Shop, Bakery Opens In Somerville

Bridgewater local and owner of 22 West Tap & Grill Kevin Trimarchi is bringing rolled ice cream to Somerset County with his newest venture.

SOMERVILLE, NJ — Desserts are hitting a whole new level of epicness thanks to Bridgewater local Kevin Trimarchi with his newly launched Even More Epic ice cream shop and bakery.

Located at 84 West Main Street in Somerville, at the former Rita's Italian Ice, Even More Epic is essentially an extension of Trimarchi's successful Epic Cookies, which opened last May.

"When I opened Epic cookies I was doing it like a hobby since everyone loves cookies and wanted to bring it to Somerville. I didn't think of it as that big of a business but then it took off," said Trimarchi. "We kind of grew out of Epic's location and were looking into building a bigger bakery."

That's when the Rita's location opened up just two doors down from Epic.

"This allows me to have a bigger bakery in the back to make cookie dough, desserts, and custom orders while also having an ice cream creamery in the front," said Trimarchi.

This is Trimarchi's latest venture since opening 22 West Tap & Grill in Bridgewater, Oink and Moo BBQ Market in Somerville and Holmdel, and Epic Cookies in Somerville.

Somerville already has multiple ice cream places, but Trimarchi wanted to offer a different twist by bringing rolled ice cream to the area.

"I am all about doing something different than anyone else," said Trimarchi.

Essentially rolled ice cream takes about 4 minutes to create from scratch right in front of the customer. The liquid ice cream is poured onto the surface with toppings rolled into it before it is scraped into long cylinders.

Currently, Even More Epic offers four soft-serve flavors, plenty of toppings, milkshakes, epic milkshakes, cookies, cake pops, cakes, and more.

Many of the desserts are grab-and-go including cakes that can be customized with a saying written on them for an additional $5.

Custom orders are also being accepted for wedding cakes, birthday cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, and more.

"You name it, we can recreate it," said Trimarchi.

Currently, Even More Epic is hosting its soft opening Tuesday through Thursday from 3 to 10 p.m., Friday from 3 to 11 p.m., Saturday from noon to 11 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.

A grand opening is planned for Saturday, June 11 where multiple specials will be offered including buy one get one soft-serve cup or cone, buy one get one cupcake, 10 percent off signature cakes in the case, 10 percent quarts of homemade ice cream, and 10 percent off cookie candles.

"It feels great. I am super excited to bring something new into town with the rolled ice cream," said Trimarchi.
