Excessive Rainfall Possible, Flood Watch Issued For Somerset County
With wet conditions and elevated creeks and streams, some flooding is possible with another 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain expected.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Another round of heavy rain is expected on Wednesday prompting a flood watch to be issued for Somerset County.
The National Weather Service(NWS) issued a flood watch from Wednesday at 1 p.m. through Thursday at 6 a.m. as excessive rainfall is possible.
"With wet antecedent conditions and elevated creeks and streams, some flooding is possible with another 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain expected," according to the NWS.

The NWS warns that creeks and streams may rise out of their banks and fooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

Tuesday afternoon: Rain likely before 4 p.m., then areas of drizzle with a chance of rain after 4 p.m. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 50. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Tuesday Night: Areas of drizzle with a slight chance of rain before 7 p.m. Patchy fog after 7 p.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.
Wednesday: Rain likely, mainly after 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 56. Light and variable wind becoming northeast 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Wednesday Night: Rain. Low around 48. North wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between three-quarters and one inch possible.
Thursday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 56. North wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 prcent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Thursday Night: A slight chance of rain before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 55.
Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37.
