Flood Watch Issued For Somerset County Ahead Of New Winter Storm
"Given saturated soils and stream and river levels remaining high, additional flooding is possible," said the National Weather Service.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — A Flood Watch has been issued for Somerset County ahead of another winter storm set to hit the area on Friday.
The Watch issued by the National Weather Service(NWS) is in effect from Friday at 7 p.m. through Saturday at 7 a.m.
The storm is projected to bring rainfall totals ranging from 0.5-1.5 inches, damaging winds and a chance of coastal flooding. Read More: New Winter Storm Poses Same Flood, Wind, Outage Threats To NJ

"Given saturated soils and stream and river levels remaining high, additional flooding is possible in urban areas, creeks, and rivers," according to NWS.
Most of the flooding in the Somerset County area has receded except for the Millstone River. As of Thursday afternoon, there are areas of the river along Somerset, Hillsborough and Montgomery that remain in the "moderate" and "minor" flood stage.

The Millstone River at Griggstown remains in the "moderate" flood stage at around 13 feet.

Areas of the river in the Millstone and Blackwells Mills areas remain in "minor" flood stage as of 1 p.m.
"Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop," said the NWS.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
Friday: A chance of rain after 5 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 44. Light and variable wind becoming east 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Friday Night: Rain. Low around 41. Breezy, with an east wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between three-quarters and one inch possible.
Saturday: A chance of rain before 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 53. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28. Breezy.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 37. Breezy.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 22.
